Ok so before I write my review, I have to make a statement. I was reading some of the other reviews and I had to shake my head. It's a love novel.its supposed to be about what someone's fantasy relationship would be. It's not supposed to be an instruction guide to how to mold your boyfriends or husbands. You read the story with the intention of using your imagination to picture yourself in the characters place. Possibly getting turned on by the happening that are going on. Most of these romance novels have the same step up. Strong man/woman sees w hat they want and they make it their business to get it. Whether the opposite of their affection is head strong at first there will always be a conformity. For readers to give the book a low rating for not seeing the book for what it is, is not right. The author of this book followed exactly how romantic novels are supposed to go (my review) the story kept your attention because you had to know what sassy provocative sex position the character was going to get into next. As all romantic novels it's a cat and mouse game which always leads to love and then heart ache then love again. The description says ***HAPPY EVER AFTER** So before buying the book it told you what to expect. And therefore you should have known what you were getting from that alone. I think the book was written well I couldn't put it down. The only two issues I have is one I expected Quinn and Emma to have at it on the stainless steel counter top in the restaurant and the fact that their story doesn't seem to continue in the other books. Well from the description I read anyway.if I'm wrong please correct me. But all in all good book. Sorry for the spoiler people

I am an adult reader very reluctant to read a NA book. I found this book thru a online party on Facebook. I decided to give it a shot and see if I would like this genre.

I look for certain things in my book. I like realistic H/h and a great story that pulls you in and give you the emotions of the characters. I also like to suspend belief for certain things if the story is good enough.

What I liked about this book:
1. Good story: Great continuing story with a little mystery and suspense.
2. Decent love story: The Hero is Alpha to the max, with a determination that makes you want to slap him at times, but the Heroine keeps him pretty much in his place with her determination to not be controlled.
3. Age of H/h: My greatest fear in this genre is that the H/h are babies. 18-19 years old. I liked that the characters were in there late 20's and not too young to even know themselves.
4. Emotions: This story pulled out all the stop in the range of emotions you caught your self feeling along with the characters.
5. Love scenes: Much more than I expected from this genre but pleasantly surprised.
6. It is part of a series: I love series. I love the continuation of the story and getting a glimps of the H/h in the next book.

What I have issues with in this Book:
1. Although I can talk like a sailor, it just doesn't happen in the bedroom. Who wants to be told in such vulgar language what they are going to do. Just do it.

I will read book 2 in this series. I am a true fan of series and always love a continuing story.

This book pulls you in right from the beginning. Chef Emma is about to loose her restaurant as the building she rents is being remodeled. She approaches the owner Quinn who very much wants her and makes a deal with her - she will be his escort and his goal is to get her in his bed and he will extend her lease. Someone is sabotaging Emma's restaurant and things get dangerous and her space in the building is given to someone else as Quinn's brother finished the deal on the building even though Quinn tried to change things. Quinn does everything he can to help Emma's situation but will she forgive him. This author is new to me and I really loved the book and I am now reading the second book in the series.

He's extremely tall with mesmerizing, intelligent grass green eyes. He's heart-stoppingly gorgeous in an animalistic and rugged way and he knows it and uses it to his benefit. He's cocky, arrogant and accustomed to having his way and getting what he wants. Yeah, Quinn Ryker is a playboy-wh*re of the worst sort. He's wealthy, bored and uninterested in life; until he see's Emma Sparrow. She poses a challenge which sparks Quinns' interest. And even though Emma doesn't want him....has no interest in him - - he's taken with her and that makes him more determined. So he devises a scheme to blackmail her into keeping company with him....forcing her to date him. All of his tactics of manipulation backfire and only increases Emmas' rage. Let the games begin....

Emma Sparrow has long dark mahogany hair, pouty cherry red full lips and hazelicious eyes. She's a petite 5'2" young woman with luscious soft curves. Emma is a natural beauty and completely oblivious of her charms. She's feisty, determined and smart. She's the owner of "Old Port", a restaurant that she commands like an army general. Emma is strong willed, stubborn and confident with a tender vulnerability that she seldom let's out of her closet. She's worked her heinie off and has fought for every inch of her success and she's done it all alone. She's immensely proud and protective of her success.

I thought this story was quite good although predictable and unoriginal. Yes there are lots of "F" bombs (get used to it; this is an erotic romance in the 21st Century). The author articulated her plot well...this billionaire playboy "player" who meets the one woman who doesn't want him the same way he wants her and it floors him. And all his "moves" and manipulation to try to claim her while dealing with foreign emotions that continue to grow, put him in a tail spin. It was great! It was a fun story of his plan backfiring on him again and again while he happily journeys into unchartered territory. He trips and stumbles merrily along making blunder after blunder. It's the story of chasing the object of your desire until you're completely captured. I loved it!

With that being said...the story was so fast paced that I didn't connect with the characters. I was never emotionally invested. Emma holds Quinn off, digs her heals in and puts up her walls over and over again...and then the next minute...Ba-BAM...she's in love with him?!? (uh...no....just NO!). Too fast. There are several holes and loose threads screaming at me while I read...with the abrupt ending leaving no closure to the many mysteries. I was left sitting here going "WTfrik"??? I seriously doubt I'll purchase any more of this series. Yes it was a fun read for a lazy afternoon...but too fast paced, with and unoriginal predictable plot. With weak drama that is unresolved and poor character descriptions. I still give it 3★'s...I thought even with all the drawbacks, the author told the story well.

Ahora que está de moda criticar 50 Shade y libros similares, me gustaría que aquellos que les encanta echar espuma por la boca se leyeran este libro. Es que es agobiante, invasivo, opresivo...Bueno, se entiende lo que quiero decir.

Aunque el libro empieza bien y tiene unos personajes que parecen bien construidos, conforme van avanzando las páginas te das cuenta de que es el mismo diálogo una y otra vez y las mismas escenas de sexo una y otra vez. Esperaba un poquito más, la verdad. Y por cierto...chantajear a alguien para que se acueste contigo jamás debería ser la premisa de un libro. Chantajearla emocionalmente, avasallarla y usar el método del acoso y derribo hasta que cede a lo que quieres, tampoco debería ser el modus operandi del protagonista de un a novela romántica por muy "BSDM" que sea (que no lo es).

El libro lo conseguí gratis por Kindle. Y menos mal.

Look I don't think it's as bad as some make out. I think the problem is it's an instalove sort of tale. Quinn did a bit of stalking initially, she didn't he know him but POW it hits. More a shorter story to get lost in not to think about the reality of it. That's what fiction is.

However it's hot, Quinns a hunk, so it seems are his bros. Looks like some major drama coming in future books, this is just a prelude. Just loose yourself for once.
